Which made it look like this!

We have now got a full mane again, ive used Megatek and ive only used half neck rugs this year and it has worked

How did you make that?! It looks really good!

Not that I know of. My horse is quite a warm horse but he is white but wants to be green and brown so rolls about in his bed all night so has to have a neck cover. However of course that makes his mane hot so he needs to rub that like mad on the stable door, then his made vanishes. I have started to put sweetitch lotion on his mane and if there is a seam of any kind inside the rug I stich some fibregee over the top of it and this year this has worked.

I used clips that you use for human extensions and added some of her mane taken from underneath the longer section front section, it took hours to glue it on and i stuck my fingers together alot!!

I find that Switch does the job fantastically and is the only thing I've found that keeps my horse's mane. -I buy it from my vets and I use a syringe to apply it. I put it on every other day or every 3rd day to his mane and tail and I've already had to start using it.

I also use Mark Todd rugs with detachable neckers so that they fit well and never rub him either.

Both Megatek and Shapleys MTG work faster than Cornucrescine to promote re-growth and are less gunky. Supreme mane savers are good, but with our worst mane loser, we prefer snuggyhoods full head hood and body under the rugs - then we don't lose any. They are expensive, but easy to wash and snuggyhoods repair damage free. Leovet "no rub" is great for itchy manes but if you have sweet itch, you need snuggyhoods and the full range of anti sweet itch remedies twice daily. We aso find that using tons of conditioner stops rubs in the first place, but of course it can make manes/reins slippery. As well as false plaits, Extra Forelock do glue in mane, for M & Ms, but it's a bit of a fiddle. I have only ever put in a few pieces to get the general impression of a mane back, as I'm paranoid about being caught - never have been, though and now we use hoods, etc, so we don't need the false mane.

I don't know any immediate cures as such, but if you can get hold of Bay Rum it works wonders. I get it from the local pharmacy, but I live in a different country :P Its really cheap, and smells reeeeaaaallly strong, but it makes the mane grow super fast..and it makes it softer I found too

For the last few years my horse has started the showing season with pea plaits and one missing. But this winter he has been wearing a lycra neck cover under his rugs and has his mane. It is a little bit thinner but very plaitable.

Apparently pig oil rubbed into the mane during winter helps or thats what i was told to try and get my horses even longer as it only sits at the shoulder and this ladys pony had a mane down to its knees so it must have something going for it.
