Can anyone advise as to whether it is best to go for a full sheepskin numnah with lots of padding or to go for a half pad for use with a regular numnah? My horse doesn't have any back problems I just want something that is going to prevent any back problems and something that is comfy for him everyday. Any advise would be appreciated.a

id make sure the saddle is fitted with a sheepskin half pad as i used one on one of my old horses and it turned out her saddle was way to tight becuse of her numnah (the saddle was fitted without a numnah) just thought id share the knowlage because the thought hadnt occured to me when i went a brought it :)

Sorry to hijack, but would a sheepskin raise the saddle at all, or just make it a tight fit?

Golden01, personally I'd go for the 1/2 pad as they are more versatile, but if you use one over a numnah surely it will loose some of the comfort 'factor', if you like! :p xx

I hadn't thought about that! The saddle was fitted for him but by his previous owner so I don't know what sort of numnah it was fitted for. Maybe I will stick with a regular numnah!
