numpty question alert...

i really don't understand what half pads are all about...

what are they for?
do you use them as well as, or instead of, a numnah?

excuse my mega dull questions...

Half pads can be used in conjunction with a numnah/ saddleloth or without. I tend to use mine if i am showing or schooling as it helps show off the shoulder a bit more. They are also good for that little bit extra protection to the back and also they can raise the saddle slightly. I adore mine and i use it with or without a saddlecloth i used it for an XC competition on a warm day, she didn't get too hot and had aple protection shold i have come crashing down on her back.
I also think they look really smart.

Don't worry, I was wondering about this recently too and would like to know the answer.

thank you for your answer!

i think they look really nice. and was considering one for my horsey, as he is slightly saddle sensitive, and they look lovely and comfy! but was worried about buying one and looking like a pleb by using it wrong...
