Surely they give pressure points?
Do you use them with a normal numnah as well?
Why would you use one?

Sorry for all the questions

I only use these, no other saddle cloth or numnah - but I use only half panel saddles so no pressure points at all. I love them, but hate seeing them over a saddle cloth. How thick must that be and why do it?

I use a Le Mieux lambskin half pad with a very thin saddle cloth underneath. I have never had any trouble with pressure points but I get the saddle fitted to include the half pad underneath as the pad will change the fit of a saddle.

I use the saddle cloth underneath as it keeps the lambskin clean and dry. Otherwise in this hot weather I would need about 3 half pads so I could constantly wash and dry them for the next use. At £50 a time I can't afford three half pads (though saying that the saddle cloths are almost as expensive)

Thanks everyone, I've never used one, but I've always been curious why they're used and these pressure points, which obviously are in my head

i use one xc on one horse over a thin saddlecloth. saddlecloth is very thin and only to stop underneath of saddle getting covered in sweat.
