Does anyone know where I can get a good quality halter/headcollar for showing from? Iam taking my coloured warmblood yearling to a show at the end of the month and want him to look really smart. Leather would be nice, preferably dark brown. Many thanks!

Check the show rules as if your yearling is a colt it may require bitting.

Also, often they are shown in a bridle (just without a bit) so if you look at many tack shops etc they will have a number for you to try

Halters, I think the smartest ones are the ones for welshies but I don't know if you would be allowed to use this in a youngster who isnt a welsh (if you get me?)

http://www.frogpool.com/product-7298.htm something like this is what I mean, but this is for fillies as I am pretty sure colts after a certain age are supposed to be bitted I am afriad (so don't know if this would cause a problem)

Thanks very much. I really am pretty clueless. I will find out if he has to be bitted cos yes, he is still a colt. x

Ok no worries, if he does have to be bitted it makes like much easier as you buy a little colt showing bridle with just a plain rubber mouth bit in or whatever he is happy with and you look super smart (and have more control!

and then u get to send pictures to us to see how smart he looks!
