I want a horse hair bracelet and can't decide between these two companies. Has anyone used either of them? They seem to be a similar spec and price. I want one with silver clips. Thanks
I have used Seirendipity Equine on 2 occassions for a bracelet and a bangle and 3 others from my yard have used them too. A very good service and extremely reasonable as well. I would definately recommend them. www.facebook.com/seirendipityequine
A friend got a hamish and ozzie one and it was nice. I have just got one from gemosi and i love it - they had more choice in designs than hamish and were slightly cheaper. they're also on facebook - www.facebook.com/gemosi
How much hair do you need? I'd love one too and I happen to have a length of hair that my numpty horse tore out of his tail on one of his paddock hopping escapades :rolleyes3: but I'm not sure if it'll be enough
I used From The Tail jewellery for my horsehair bracelet earlier this year and I am thrilled with the results. My bracelet needed at least 20" length of tail hair about the thickness of a pencil. You can cut a piece this size from the inside of the back of the tail without it being noticeable in my experience, unless your horse has a very sparse tail.
I needed 12" length for my bracelet and about a half inch thickness. probably not enough if you just got hair that had been caught in a fence, but it'#d be easy to take a bit more... i really, really love my gemosi one, but i've heard from the tail is good too.
It's about 24" long and slightly thinner than a pencil, he had a very long tail when he did it (when brushed out it trailed on the ground post winter weather, he's now had a trim so it doesn't get all mud clumps in it) and it came off about half way down from the outside edge. Found it lying in the field one day and him looking like butter wouldn't melt with my electric fencing half down ha ha! Menace!
