As winter has really kicked in with snow everywhere, my hands are in a state.

At work I am constantly washing them throughout the day and end up washing off most of what I put on.

Just wondered if anyone has any wonder products.. cheap would be a bonus but happy to spend more if it comes recommended!

Thanks

I love soap and glory's hand food but not sure how it would hold up with more hand working hands (I work in an office) but I did get my mum a burt's bee set for christmas and she raves about the hand cream.

My parents are hairdressers and constantly have cracked hands due to having them wet most of the time!

The only thing that seems to work is something called DoubleBase Hand Cream.

Usually get it from Chemists - but can order it online from Amazon.

Honest its brilliant and wouldnt use anything else!

I quite like and use The Body Shop Hemp Hand Cream. It's very thick so I only use it overnight and has really helped my split finger tips :)

Avon's own brand hand cream think it supports breast cancer charity (so you can feel like you've done your bit lol) it's excellent and costs a lot less than th eposh fancy brands :)

this stuff is amazing-i work with horses so hands are exposed all the time-i use it on my face too in this really cold weather

you can get it from £5 on ebay and similar sites

Another vote for Udder cream. I think the Double base mentioned is also called Diprobase.
By far the best tho is Burts Bees Almond & Honey..tho be warned it smells good enough to eat!I have terrible hands and have tried trillions of things, but it always comes to these two for great results.

another vote for soap and glory hand food my hands are badly split and cracked and this helps its not sticky rbs in eaisly and leaves my rough hands quite smooth i aply it 3/4times a day dont need much seems quite resiliant i also like vasline's range of moisturisers they seem quite water resistant

I know a lot of people rave about Body Shop's Hemp handcream, but be warned it is full of lanolin and my hands have never been more badly affected by anything than when I tried this stuff on someone's recommendation :(

I like aqueous cream (99p a tub!) as it's cheap, light, can be used as a soap substitute and really works. It's rather been superceded by Diprobase cream these days, but I find this too greasy for me.

The other ones I like are the Lidl's ones. I use the UV ones in the summer and the intense moisturising ones in the winter. Very good value, pleasant to use, and don't contain any nasties :)

Aldi.. Anti ageing face serum at £3.45 a throw :) I bought it for my face but it was too rich so I started using it in my hands. It worked better than any hand cream I've ever tried. Might not be a good barrier but applied a few ties a day at at night it should work. :)

I use norwegian formula hand cream, think its about a fiver but you only need a little bit. I forget to moisturise my hands all the time so only remember to use the cream when they're already dry and chapped but this stuff works wonders and sorts them out nicely.

Soap and glory isn't bad, clarins and No7 also do good handcreams. But I recently tried Bodyshop Hemp hand protector and it is great. I thought nothing would beat neutrogena norweigan formual but I think the Bodyshop Hemp does.

I've tried tons as have a job where I'm always hand washing plus then getting wet hands at yard means mine get cracked & sore. I always end up going back to the neutrogena stuff, not the cheapest but does last for ages. Got couple of ancient tubes of body shop hemp handcream, that's pretty good as well but not sure if they still make it.

I've used body shop hemp,e45,Elizabeth Arden 8hr,a couple of burts bees ones,a shea butter l'occitane one,a clarins one and many more I can't remember and by far the absolute best (imo) is Neutrogena's Norwegian Hand Formula,as mentioned above. It's not cheap (or in the v.expensive bracket, but then I buy it in a multipack of 3,from Costco:D) but it bl**dy works. Sometimes, I can have the driest, cracked, painful hands and after applying at night (and maybe once in the day),for only a day or two,my hands are sorted. Wouldn't be without it. If mine are really dry,I find the first couple of applications may make my hands sting for about 15secs but then it just soaks in-not greasy:). Use it on elbows & knees too:). (As an aside,Neutrogena's cracked heel foot cream is also miraculous!) I don't work for them either(wish I did!) .

I use the Neutrogena too, or any thing with a high glycerine content. Eucerin helps my hands as I get a touch of eczema. I'd try a few and see what suits. I've found that rinsing any soap off really really well, drying carefully and moisturise every time. Grapeseed oil is also relatively cheap and is effective esp. overnight, wear gloves as much as you can and never wash pots without rubbering up!

L'octaine one minute hand scrub followed by their Shea butter creme.

This!!! It's not cheap but it does last forever and is the only thing to have actually really fixed up my hands. I suffer from really bad eczema and being out in the cold with the horses has made them so much worse - but the scrub is really gentle and doesn't sting at all, it leaves your hands silky smooth and then you pop the hand cream on afterwards and its heavenly! You can get the hand cream in mini sizes if you just want to try it.
Soap & Glory Hand Food / Endless Glove creams are fab (I use these in summer when my hands aren't in quite such a state), as is Elizabeth Arden - but I tend to put it on just before bed as it can be a bit greasy x

As I have the misfortune to own the crappiest skin ever, may I just say: Expensive products are lush because they smell nice and sink into skin quickly, so heavenly. But the cheapo ones do the trick just as well, they just smell worse and take forever to absorb, but they do get there in the end. Sainsbury's Basics hand cream seems to my skin as good as Elizabeth Arden's 8-hour, (although my heart does love the latter much more).
Most important is put rubber gloves on for any washing-up/cleaning duties and apply some hand cream at least twice a day. And if you can be bothered, do a bit of an exfoliate, lather on some olive oil, gloves, and sit and watch telly for an hour.

Norwegian formula is good! Also used E45 but found I had more hacks, interesting about udder cream, I have lots of that, might use a fresh tub for myself :D

Apply sudrocreme before going on the yard , wear gloves as much as possible .
Have hand cream everywhere so you can apply easily.
And one thing that a fix go to bed with a plastic freezer bag large put loads of cream on put hands in bag then under duvet rub in well it's also works brilliantly on feet cream, bags , socks go to bed. I am a very romantic sight at night.
I have recently started washing up with fairy liquid with Olay and you know I think it helps.
