Which are better - or less invaisive hand tools or power tools cos i'm totally confused as some people say that power is too easy to take off too much tooth - does anyone really have the answer???
If the EDT is properly trained they are very unlikely to take off too much tooth. Power tools in the hands of a qualified profeesional are very very accurate. Hand floats do not allow the EDT to take off precise areas of individual tooth (with accuracy) - power tools do. Id be more concerned with ensuring I was using a properly qualified EDT or experienced vet than worrying about whether they use power tools or manual floats.
I leave it to my dentist to decide , he's very experienced and has taken courses and trained with the top dentist in the country and is always updating his experience and knowledge . He uses the power tools on my 34 year old as the hand rasp moves her teeth too much and is uncomfortable so the powertool is nicer for her and I appreciate that he takes that into consideration .
upto the edt. Although some horses dont like the power tools. So it would depend on that too. The power tools can be a risk if horse moves they can take too much off, although with hand rasp can take not enough off.
