Does anyone who’s travelled for equestrian purposes know if you can carry spurs in hand luggage? Travelling through Malaga and Bristol. Thanks

Edited to add:
Not for me! A friend coming over here. She’s only travelling hand luggage. Just thought I’d ask on here as I know a few forum members have done riding/ training holidays abroad.

Sorry, should have been clearer -

Different airlines have different policies, your friend should check with hers and, if allowed, should keep a copy of the response in case there is any problem at the airport.

Shouldn't be an issue, Bristol sees a fair amount of equestrian with regular Dublin flights. Everyone normally wears their riding hats to get on plane as take up too much space.
She’s not bringing her hat as wants a new one and says the tack shops here have a better selection than where she lives in Spain. However I’ll suggest that for her journey home 😂

Yeah if you are wearing it for getting on the aeroplane, you don't enter the bag measure of doom issues if just bringing hand luggage. They cannot do anything about it as the rules are purely about bags, not what you have on you. I then stow it in overhead. I also wear my riding boots/wellies.... swap them over as soon as off the plane. This is when I head to Ireland and I am stingy with paying for baggage on what is normally 2-3 days max!
