Hand made - Made to measure saddles - West Mids

I am looking at having a made to measure dressage saddle for myself and obviously Milly.

I don't think I will find one that will equally fit me and Milly.

Milly is not really an easy fit and I am a very wonky donkey.

Soooooooooooooooooooo...............

Who has had a saddle made for them / for their horse?

Who did you use?

How happy are you with the saddle, service?

Any ones to avoid? (PM if you prefer)

I think Hilton saddles operate in the West Midlands, gorgeous saddles and reasonable

I used the Welsh saddler to fit my horse, they come out measure you and the horse, takes two weeks to make saddle, back out and fit the saddle, then do another check in a month

Shadow was a very awkward fit and needed all sorts of drop panels, front and back gussets, wide tree stuffed down to a medium wide! never went better. and tis the most comfortable thing i've ever sat in

I bought my horse two years ago with a made to measure pure dressage saddle that was two months old. Never had a problem with it. Chap is called Ray Symonds (Symonds Saddlery), based in Walsall - fantastic saddles. A couple of other liveries on our yard also have saddles from him - lovely chap, up front and honest, and saddle is tops!

Dont know your budget but my dressage saddle was made for me and Tom by Barry Swaine. (Walsall)

Not cheap BUT in my opinion Barry is the best saddlemaker in the country . As soon as I can justify it I will be having one made for Jack too.

Another one to recommend Black Country. Mine was made to fit me and my horse. Fit's brill and is soooooo comfy !! Not cheap but worth every penny !

Well I used Mel from The Horse Shop and she was fab

put flair in my dressage saddle and the difference in Pidge was instant. From being upside down, inside out and fast, to soft round and on the bit (well most of the time anyway

) Stubben jump saddle off the shelf fits fab and I have a happy horse now too

She offers a very thorough service and will let you keep the saddle for a while to thoroughly test it prior to purchase - I gave the jump saddle a thorough test before buying it, flat work, couple of hours over the chase, jumped it etc etc. can't fault the service at all

barrk barkers in walsall makes made to measure saddles. the saddles are ideal saddles and they are lovely check website. Barry does very good deals at part ex etc

My exYO had one made for her mare and it was gorgeous. I think it was from Stroud Saddlery. She spent a vast sum of money on it but the horse was only four and she outgrew it in four months
