Hello, haven't posted on here much. May I ask, has anyone used this stallion or know of any of his progeny? I would be breeding for myself, a good alrounder that would hopefully really have a jump in it. My mare is jumping bred, with a healthy dash of Thoroughbred blood.

I have a yearling filly by Handel and I am very pleased with her. Her mother is half thoroughbred and half warmblood and I was pleasantly surprised that the foal is a substantial middleweight with fantastic paces. Obviously I dont know if how talented a jumper she will be, but with her four white legs and striking white face( must have come from Handel) she certainly looks like a mini dressage horse!

I know of someone who has a foal due by him this year. Last year she had a foal from that mare by Mill Law, and she wanted something a bit bigger and more impressive to look at I think.

To be honest, I can't understand why he isn't used more. A stallion with his looks, pedigree and competition record should have quality mares queueing up to use him but somehow he doesn't seem to have a particularly high profile.

He hit my radar quite a few years ago when I saw a few of his stock in hunter breeding classes - they were all smart with good movement (not surprising with Wolfgang & Ulft in his pedigree). If I had a TB mare and I was thinking about breeding a good moving hunter/eventer/allrounder, I'd seriously consider him. Stud fee is pretty reasonable too!

One of them wasn't with someone who looked like Stan laurel with a bowling hat on!! He was Essex county champion quite a few years ago and was generally in the line up at county shows. Now a grade a showjumper with an 'ex' eventer!

handel is a great stallion and I have seen alot of his offsping from all differnt types of mares (welsh, Irish,TB) go on to do great things and he puts his stamp on them so they also look great.

we also bred a stallion out of a Handel mare and have got a 3 year mare by him who has definatly got the Handel look. very eye catching

Hi, I will be using him on 2 of my mares this year as i have been really impressed with the youngstock that i have seen by him - plus he won over £350,000!!!!

Think he gets a fairly decent book of mares these days and spoke to the guy that does all his stud work who told me that last year out of about 70 mares that he had only a handful not in foal (think he quoted me over 90%!).

They also have a really nice looking 4yr old stallion by Arko III that looks like it might be one for the future.

Hope this helps.

He might have been - its probably 6 or 7 years ago maybe longer. I think there was more than one about at the time as I seem to remember looking up the breeding of horses that caught my eye and thinking oh its another one by Handel...

My TBX mare is in foal to Handel at the minute and is due back end of April. Will send pics when foal apears if your still interested.
Must say, found stud fee and facilities excellent and Steve and Anne were both amazing, was really very happy to leave my mare with them she was taken excellent care of, would def use this yard again and prob Handel obviously depending on the outcome of the foal.
They do also have some really lovely stallions which they took the time to show me around even though we had settled on Handel.
if youve not had the chance to meet him i would reccomend for sure he is sucha real gentleman and reallyeye catching not to mention talented.
Goodluck with whatever you decide.

Check on the website, offspring Thomas, Eddie and in showjumping, eventing and showing (stan Laurel, thanks Anne!!) Handel's Messiah (Thomas). First horse we ever bred.

Anybody who has used him as a sire knows how good he is.
