As above, had my horse for just over 3 months and this week the latest update is a strained shoulder from the field! I don't know if it's the wet ground that made her slip in the field or something she does at night!

Last 2 months: first incident: VERY lame in walk- vet+farrier out. Diagnosis= sprain

2nd incident: Lame hind--> cut on fetlock as fought with another mare (mind you this cut has even yet to go away!) 2 vet visits and 2weeks box rest which resulted in alot of stable banging ):

3rd incident: Alas! no heat, no swelling, just lame in a circle = strained shoulder.

Who else has such accident prone horses! Love my pony to bits tho- she's so sweet and i suspect that she gets bullied in her field (lowest of the pecking order) hence that might contribute to her injuries (always chased away etc) ):

anyone shares my pain (both on pocket and emotionally?)
:(

yes!
we had broken splint bones, nails in the frog, caught in eletric AND normal fences, choking you name it ive had it , and that's only one of my horses!

Welcome to my world !!!
This list is not exhaustive but I have had my TB for nearly 2 years and in that time ......

Abcess in each hoof ( not at the same time )
various kicks, - from other horses and also where he has got his own legs tangled up in each other - each of these events has needed the vet for anti- biotics, stiches ( he's a rather precious little thing )

Taken the skin of whole of thigh - when jumping granite wall to get in with filly's next door.

Rug strap from fieldmates rug stuck between shoe and hoof

cellutitis - twice

cut eyelid somehow in field - blood everywhere

It's quitened down now although the eylid was the last event a few months, I know him better now- I manage him better am careful who he goes out with etc

Oh yes, my hands are firmly up!!!!

Unknown lameness - 30 mins before vet turns up, the lameness disappears.

Cut front leg, vet unable to put stitches in as he won't stand still even after sedation. Then decides to chew bandage off and chew leg - ewww blood all over his face.

Regularly pulls a shoe (not because of bad farriery).

The list goes on....
