Not sure if anyone remembers I posted about the problems I was having with my pony hanging on the right rein, well it has got steadily worse so today when my vet was out for someone else I asked for his opinion. He had a good look and said Patrick wasn't moving as well behind as he would have liked and tested him for spavins. Well I am pleased to say that no signs of spavins showed up but when my vet checked Patrick's back he was very very sore. He has recommended a physio and I am going to get my saddles checked asap. Poor Patrick is very sore though.

Just thought you would like to know.

Poor patrick...It is good you have found out what is wrong...keep us updated, I bet he will appreciate that physio visit!

Hmm not so sure he really didn't appreciate the vet touching it, mind you he has a vet phobia as he was so ill last year. Thought I'd get my saddles done 1st if possible but will ring both the physio and saddler tomorrow and see if I can arrange them both asap.

Poor Patrick

At least you've found the root of the problem and can do something about it. Hopefully it'll be something easily rectified.

Poor Mr P!

Bet he is feeling very sorry for himself! Especially without his girlfriend Smurf around! How has he handled her being away?
I know how he feels with his back, I started doing yoga which must have aligned me as now all my muscles and knots ache!!

Hello,

In my experience, getting saddles sorted can make a really huge difference, so hopefully your chap will come on in leaps and bounds.

...but do get a back person in too... if the saddle's been wrong for a long time, there's be chronic changes in there that will need some attention. It's well worth the money, really... (I"m not a back person, but do work in a related field)

Bless him, he has tried to tell me all is not right but I put it down to schooling issues until I ran my hand down his back on Sunday and the poor thing nearly hit the floor. He hasn't seemed to notice his girlfriend has gone to be honest as he has 3 mares in the field next to him to keep him occupied

When Conor looked at his back last night he nearly demolished Conor's car, now that would have been an expensive vet call out

I was going to sort the saddles out then call the physio the vet recommended, so we can start again hopefully with everything feeling fine.
