Can you not remember what those kids did to james bulger???
If kids can do that to a baby then sadly they wont think twice about doing it to an animal
Sickens me to the pit of my stomach as i cannot understand what would possess any child/teenager to even have thoughts like that that would entertain them

Puts into perspective all the posts criticising under-rugging, over-rugging, turning out, stabling, clipping, not clipping etc etc.
Whatever side of the fence you sit on the above subjects & the myriad of other topics that are discussed on a daily basis on this forum, other forums, and between ourselves - in the most part we are all trying to do the best for our horses and should be congratulated for that when you read about what these other poor animals have been subjected to.

There is no way on god's earth my son would ever grow up to think its ok to treat animals/kids like that.
Its discusting, the little skwirts need hanging up by their nuts and be prodded with a cattle prod.

Sadly yes, how can we forget, and when you put it like that, I see your point. These are the type of people our Solicitors defend. It's sad really. I just don't understand why it gets to 'that point' with some people. Just like drugs - I just don't understand it. Why even attempt to try them when you are brought up learning the disastrous effects drugs have.

Sickening,but most of what i have tried would never have even made me think of harming another
,sadly too many parents these days have kids and dont give a monkeys jacksie as to what they are up to
and even when they fook up huge time refuse to take responsibility as to how their kids have turned out

After the slating I have had in soapbox, apparently I should be feeling sorry for these poor misunderstood individuals, good job they didn't slip doing it and broke their own knecks or they would probably get compensation from the land owner, maybe it was just teenage high jinks or they have had a bad start in life, maybe even some of you on here have done things in your teens but got away with it, whatever it wont be their fault it will be societys, ie yours and my fault that they act like this.

Pedantic: they weren't teenagers. They were ten year olds. We can't discuss chopping a ten year old's *******s off! What would you use? A burdizzo?
Both boys had very disturbed backgrounds. One of the two, Jon Venables, had been self harming with scissors at the age of seven. Where was the intervention then? It didn't happen. Perhaps the teachers thought it's his own fault if he's self harming and they should just let him grow out of it.
When two ten year olds kill, society (which is us) must take its share of the blame.
From ten years of age, both boys were branded "evil" on the front pages of the tabloids, and those responsible for their therapy have said that these headlines had a tremendous negative impact on care and rehabilitation. Still to this day, the tabloids continue to demonise these two young men (now 27), because of what they did when they were just ten. No wonder one of these young men is now back in prison for having broken the terms of his life licence in some way (we don't know how - there are various rumours). Hated and hounded by society, what does he have to lose? Recently, he has attempted suicide.
I wouldn't call any 27 year old "evil" because of a crime committed at the age of ten, even if the crime was horrendous.

What annoys me is this, if locals had already complained about the youths and be spotted doing this before and one has already been drowned before Christmas, how the hell was this disgusting behaviour allowed to happen again?
Perhaps their local councillor/police etc should of sorted the problem youths before Christmas, but oh no, their probably too busy doing other things like slapping tickets on peoples cars....anyway, don't get me started.

I got the two stories confused there. Rudey mentioned James Bulger's murder, and I thought that's what we were still talking about. That's what my comments refer to.
As for those who led the pony onto the frozen canal, they are obviously very stupid individuals and pretty much deserve what they get.
