better settle yourself in with a glass (or two) of wine!!
When my old horse was on a yard I met a girl on there with a horse who was in the stable next door to mine and spent some time chatting to her. Fast forward to 10 years on, and I spotted a familiar looking yard on here and sent a message it was her jetset
Oddly (or maybe serendipity?!) she had a horse available for past loan. Hannah, and I decided to go and see her. I watched her ride her (once bitten, twice shy) and thought she looked lovely. I hadnt ridden regularly for a bit and really struggled when I got on, I felt I was all over the place and couldnt ride her effectively. However I felt she was a really good horse, and sane after some of the ones I viewed! I was concerned she was too good for me as she was working at Elementary/Medium, and I was just starting all over again
I took her on part loan and our story started
January - had total meltdown and loss of confidence for no good reason, nearly gave up, and had an instructor recommended to me. I spent about 8 weeks on the lunge and gaining some confidence back
February - off the lunge by the end of the month and I even ventured for a short hack down the lane!
it was starting to come together, very slowly and I was having lots of lessons still to keep me going
March - things were coming together now, and I was riding on my own and feeling more of a bond with her
April - I started to think about doing a dressage test after not doing one for 10 years.... so lots of practice for me - and field time for Han!
May - test time! First intro with 72.17% and a second place. I couldn't help crying and lots of polos were fed!
My face says it all
June - another Intro, not as good this time as I was a bit worried - 4th place with 58.36%. I had the bright idea that I could do the Blue Lights Horse of the Year show
to be continued.....
