I am supposed to be in college today (doing a script writing course in my spare time) but absolutely shattered so think i will go and check on her later on.

What worries me is that theeis still no waxing up...

Glad your foal alarm has come- that will help A LOT! Is she running milk yet?

I feel really tired just reading this, lol.

I'm guessing early hours of Thursday morning, and a colt.

Good Luck to both you and Hannah! Everything will be fine!

im so excited - nice to go through it with you!
Is the milk flowing when shes walking? Mine did for a few days then the day of foaling it was flowing even when she wasnt walking around. Look out for her doing droppings every few minutes as that was something jazz did for about half an hour before giving birth.
As with yours jazz is blessed with a rounded bottom so didnt seem to slacken off at all & also dont go on the V shaped belly as I had none of that either!

The milk starts to taste very sugary too right beforehand - dont ask just something I accidentely found out!!

Don't think I want to know...

She is not running milk yet, but I have kept her on a very strict diet and that can sometimes affect the amount of milk which appears before foaling (she is a good doer but needs certain things to keep condition in her coat). I think if they are on very good grass they can start running milk much earlier than one at this time of the year because obviously there is not much goodness in the grass at the moment.

I have been checking on her an hour ago and she was not eating her haylage and just stood with her head on th floor looking very fed up, poor baby!

Can i ask what you have been feeding her?? Does she have any supplements?? if so what??

Just asking coz im worried what my mares are getting. Its so difficult with mine- native ponies, so they live on fresh air but i want them to get all of the goodness they can.

Hannah is on Alfa A Original, TopSpec Feedbalancer (for the yeast in it... she gets BAD colic, and touch wood since putting her on this she has been fine), garlic, Cortaflex and Hoof Power (just while she has no shoes on).
