Come on Hannah, PUSH!

I think she is now definitely giving Josie a run for her money now...

I still think she has quite a few days to go having seen her having a Hannah moment today. Little Hanlette will never come out, that is how I feel at the moment!

Poor Hannah sounds like she's ready to drop but foalie isn't too keen! Must be horrible for her! I have all my fingers and toes crossed it will be soon (getting cramp now though as they've been crossed for a week!!)
Wish I could join in the text chain but I have no credit d'oh!

How exciting. I remember when my mare was just about to foal. When I went into the stable, she would start getting really restless. So I left her alone and kept coming back to spy. When she saw me again, she'd get restless, so i'd leave again. She gave birth at 9.15am in front of a yard full of people. I am convinced, she wanted me there the night before. Absolutly convinced.

But your post made me laugh at how detailed we can describe the mare's vulva and boobies....only in the horse world eh.

It was HUGE... Forgot my camera last night (I know, I know, how silly was that) so couldn't take some pictures this mornnig. There was absolutely no gap, and it looked as though the back of the bag (when looking at her from behind) was in a point it was that swollen.

It went down slighty when she was hooning around but not a lot.

Sounds like it's gonna happen pretty soon.
Is she still eating normally? My mare (who is ordinarily an eating machine) only played with her hay during the supper I gave her 5 hours before delivering. (and she got right back after it with a VENGEANCE as soon as her baby was standing up and her placenta was out)

Nope... still no wax but the stuff that is coming out that is becoming a bit more cloudy is very sticky when it dries. But nothing like the pictures I have seen

I am beginning to wonder whether it is ever going to come out now!

Tonight she looks to have dropped even more as I can now see her last rib clearly... in fact she is looking quite thin all over apart from her tummy. She is also tensing it up quite a bit and seem a little aggitated tonight. For example, she ate her tea, then went to get a drink but didn't get any, then went back to her tea but didn't eat any, then went and stood near her haylage just picking at it.

But no wax, therefore no Hanlette due yet.

Don't rely on any wax, some of ours don't show any at all!
I reckon the most likely sign is going off on their own to a quiet corner of the field, whizzing about isn't anything I've noticed before.
I'd be using my thermometer every few hours, you have more chance of finding out that way.
And be warned, the minute you decide to have a night at home in bed she'll foal....

I feel really bad now, as on the poll I put down Sunday onwards, I did expect to come in today & read all about it. I am supposed to be on re-hab from H&H posting & only came on to get an update.
