Hannah update - Thursday

Your nerves must be shattered!!
Luckily for me our mare was at my mum and dads house when she was due to foal but no one ever saw her actually give birth to any of her five foals!

i feel so sorry for you it must be a nightmare she seems to have had you waiting for ages. i was really lucky when i got my mare didnt know she was in foal 2 weeks before she had foalie we realised she was in foal so took usual procutions got vet checked and right at 1 in the after noon she just lay down and had him! no messing no waiting nothing. cant imagine the stress you are going through!

It's I think where the foal and placenta get all pushed out together with baby wrapped up in it all.

It presents with a big red balloon like thing coming out of the back, very obvious. You need to rip it apart ASAP and get little un out as it cant breath til you do.

I think as long as it is caugh PDQ foal is usually saveable. Just need to grab the poor little bugger out.

Someone will probably give you a better idea of it all though, my knowledge is limited and rushed, cheers Josie
