Just seen an advert for a Hanoverian x Connie for sale and made me think what sort of horse it would turn out to be (only 18months old). Anyone have any ideas? It's such an odd combination in my mind! Guessing it would be good dressage/show jumping but would it event?

All thoughts welcomed!

I bred him myself, he's by Irco Lhee. His temperament is amazing. He's a show off but kind and very trainable. We only do riding club things as that is all i'm capable of, but with the right rider I have no doubt he would have been able for a lot more.

He's very small as the mare was the connie. I think if it were the other way around and he was bigger he'd be a superstar but he's my baby so i'm massively biased!

He looks lovely!!! Would I be able to pm you about this horse I've seen as you've had yours since a baby so would be good to see your views on the baby I've seen :). Don't want to post on here as may be seen as advertising.

A lot of Hanovarians are very TB in type so it wouldnt be much different to a tb connie cross. I must admit I would have loved a x on my connie of the wonderful hannovarian I owned except of course he was gelded so not possible

my friend had a connie x tb and it had a bit of something else in it and im sure it was Hanoverian. he was a lovely little horse, well 15'3/ unfortunately he damaged his hock when he was moved over from Ireland and after 3 yrs or issues with it he had to be put to sleep, but he would have been an amazing boy otherwise! such a shame, he was a stunner too! and really easy to back!

I've got a connie x cob and a connie x tb, both are amazing, scopey bold and do anything asked with minimal fuss, the con x tb is a speed daemon and the cob cross is a bit of a tank atm but teaching her to be more mannerly as she's only 5. I bought her just from pictures as a 3yo and she's proving to be as awesome as i thought she would. Connie crosses are the only thing i'll have now, so i'm sure this one will be lovely!!

I bred a connemara mare to a hanovarian stallion, the result is a lovely well put together boy with a brilliant laid back temperament. He's only 2 so not much more to go on yet. (it may be an old advert of him your looking at).

I have a New Forest X British Warmblood & he is my horse of a lifetime. His temperament is great & his ability plus willingness to learn is super. I'm sure his attitude to life is the New Forest. He is seven now & picking up points at Affilliated BD Elementary. Native x warmblood is lovely.

Thanks for all the replies! Quick question, apparently the mare is 138 in height, the buyer says that the fillies full brother reached 15.2hh. Do you think this filly would reach the same?

It could but conversely it could be less than 138cm it depends on which genes she has Easiest way to measure is measure elbow to fetlock and add to elbow to floor add together and divide by 4 for hhh or measure each in cm and add together to give adult height in cms It isnt a guaranteed otucome but if the filly grows in proportion it will be pretty accurate
