Happy 45th Birthday Beauty (video)

As no-one knows when it is Beauty's birthday we always say that it is around the time of year.

Well she is 45, never thought we would get to this point. We've had some scary times over the past 2 years which I have been loaning her, she has collapsed and had me in hysterical tears, she has been the only one to make me laugh on dark days, and she has been the only thing that has remained a constant for me during a contantly shifting time in my life. 2 years ago before I started loaning her I never would of thought that I could love something as much as I love her, the thought of not being able to be with her one day is enough to reduce me to tears. I would and have risked my life for her before now. I can honestly say that I think she is my soulmate, It doesn't matter that she isn't human. Somedays she is the only being that can get through to me.

Anyway I have done a video, it is quite long and there are a few repeat or very similar pictures, but any way enjoy
 
Lovely, it's nice to see an old lady cherished and loved, as she should be :)
My aunt has a welsh mare of a similar age, life has taken its toll on her looks more than beauty though, she has one eye and a back like a hammock, her name is Lilly.

What did beauty do in her youth?
 
Sophie - She has been with the same family since she was 18 months, she was broken in by them. She taught their children and granchildren to ride, she was mostly a happy hacker but did a bit of everything like sj, xc ect now she just goes out for walks in hand with babies to show them how to behave however occasionally she will gallop herself around the menage when she is turned out in there and take herself over jumps
 
I can't see the video - at work - but Happy Birthday Beauty, and what an amazing age.
Even if you've only had her 2 years, you're obviously looking after her well to keep her going :) xx

You two just remind me so much of what I had with Monty, very happy couple of years until he was 40 then he was Pts :( older ponies have so much more character!

Ah, this is just what I wanted to ask, how do you know she is 45? How fantastic that she has been with generations of the same family for almost her whole life. Have you seen pictures of her when she was younger? was she a dapple grey?

well done to you for taking care of her her and you are obviously doing it all right, I hope she has a few more years happiness before she goes to the great paddocks in heaven.
