Two years ago today my Mollie arrived after a long journey to reach me, and I became a horse owner again after a thirty-four year gap. :)

She's not really what I was looking for. :o I wanted a bombproof safe hack for a nervous old lady to build her confidence on. What I ended up with is a nervous, rather moody and stubborn, aged mare with head-shaking tendencies due to a horrific accident in her past.

But then, I'm also the sort who always ends up with dogs no-one else wants*, the hard-to-home crazies I just can't resist offering one last chance to. So maybe my poor old girl coming to me was appropriate after all. :D

Anyway, we've had our issues and still have some :o but two years down the line, I love her and she tolerates me....

....and she's very beautiful:

*(and don't get me started on the men I end up with). :o:p

2 years  Is it really?

Well done for sticking by her, she certainly landed on her hooves with you :)

It is!

And to celebrate, she allowed me to hose her down for only the second time since I got her. At one time, the mere sight of the hosepipe in my hand would result in her leaping about with fear, knocking buckets etc everywhere and dragging me behind her. But with patience (and with the help of that Michael Peace book :)) we've got there. She still clatters about a bit, but in the end resigns herself to a soaking and admits it's not a snake after all. :D:p

In other news, daughter has a new camera/phone with interesting facility:
