Bit of a pointless post - but just wanted to say at long last I am really happy. Heres my story - after a 10 year break from horses I bought a lovely mare. She was very nice stamp of horse, good breeding lines, very loving on the ground but she was too much for me hacking out and never really gave me much confidence jumping (she was rather an anxious / needy mare). I battled with my confidence but due to lack of time really couldnt do the best thing by her so put her up for sale and the 1st person who saw her bought her and she has gone to a lovely home - ready to do more and much more suited to her temperament.
Vowed that I would wait until after winter before I started to look again and be absolutely sure about what I want. Lo and behold I see the advert for a horse the next week and he ticks all the boxes. Go and see him and although he possibly has the worst confirmation on the hind quarters I have ever seen (he passed 2 stage vetting but the vet did say he wasnt the best put together horse in the world!
) he is utterly the horse I wanted. I have been hacking him out for the last few weeks and coming home with smile on my face - he just hasnt put a hoof out of place. He is laid back and seems to have no issues at all! Touch wood! As for jumping he loves it, he wants to do it and he does it carefully and puts up with my mistakes - I can feel my confidence flooding back and my love of riding increasing ten fold. Sorry - bit of long waffle but I just wanted to share....
