Happy belated bday to Baba (RIP)

My beautiful Baba would have been 17yo a few days ago.

He was my best friend, from 8 - 21years old, he was by my side in everything I did. Forever patient, consistently fun and endlessly loving.

RIP my black boy, My Babalou - I miss you every day.

(The words are from a friend who wrote to me when she knew Baba had passed on)

How did you get on with your big mad walk-jog-yomp at the weekend? Stay dry, mud free?

Well the dogs attempted to kill us on various occassions, but they really loved it - going again tomorrow We met a lovely girl GSD on our way and also a lovely Lab who was scared of going over the river bridge - aww!

However for the next 3 days I walked like a pregnant duck!!

And as for Baba, yes, he was so funny, he once attempted to jump out of a second storey window (on tilt) to come with me to school. My mum often said she thought he'd run through fire for me

Aw bless him, special dogs like that leave such a gap. On a happier note your yomp sounds funny, weren't we promised pictures.

The dogs we owned & knew as children leave us with extraordinary memories, don't they? I miss & think about my first dog nearly every day.

And yes, growing up with Baba taught me so much - and his Mum too, Holly - our springer x lab, they were my brother and sister

Our much loved Vixen[JRT] would have been 18 on Bastille Day,sadly we put her down on Boxing Day but I am delighted to report that V2,a rescue,4 mos old and kicked out of her home,is very comfortable in front of the Aga.If you want to know why I recycled the name,simple,I'd spent 17 years saying"bickie for Vikky"!
