My lovely Mimosa turned 4 today.

She’s probably going to have a very easy 4YO year as I’m not planning to do anything more than sit on her a bit and do lots of groundwork. Sadly it’s not the best time to be thinking about starting a youngster.

Not sure she’ll mind though- as long as she gets lots of fuss and gets to be involved in everything I’m doing, she’s happy.

Happy birthday little Mimosa, you really bring such joy and fun to the world.

From a teeny tiny foal - thanks Silvabak Stud.

Happy Birthday pretty girl :). No rush for starting, though she is looking a lot more grown up now. I reckon you will probably be joining the forward girth groove clique though :D

Yes, people think I’m joking when I say duct tape and a pillow...

Wow, she is stunning! What breed is she?

She’s 80.2% Arab, with some warmblood, some thoroughbred, a bit of Welsh and some Shetland in there for good measure ? I call her my stretch-Shetland.

She's utterly gorgeous LG! How big is she now?

She’s 15hh on the dot, the last time we measured her. I’m hoping for another inch but we will see.

When I used to go to Pony Club (back in 2000/2001) there was a girl with a Palomino part-bred - I used to think she was utterly lovely! I was once in a lesson with her, my grey Arab and my friend Jen, who also had a grey Arab. They were really in fashion for a while in 00s! I remember the livery yard I was on at the time had quite a few purebreds as liveries - I can think of about 10 Arabs that were all on that yard at roughly the same time and it wasn't a big yard!

Anyway, that was a pointless story...

Funny how fashions change in my youth millions of years ago you could buy an Arab for peanuts. Shetlands came buy one for £5 get another free. The expensive horses were Tbs and tbxnative. I love arabs and their part breds owned one that was half Clydesdale half Arab he was the best if nuttiest eventer ever to set foot on earth

I have to say, I think Arab types are still excellent value for money. It’s a highly under-valued kind of horse- pure, straightforward fun with a bit of spark in a completely manageable package.

Totally agree( biased Arab owner here!!!)
Always lovely to see your beautiful girl. Happy Birthday Mimosa. xxx

I'm very envious, she looks such a sweetheart. I've a soft spot for Arabs, my second pony was a part bred Arab, she was a lovely, easy, forward going ride, very responsive. Also at the very small riding school I learnt at the owner had a very elderly Arab, you were allowed him on when you were considered reasonably competent, he was a delight too.
