Just posting to show off a couple of photos I took of her yesterday. It's so much easier to take pictures of dogs 😂 I can actually get them to pose!

Also, had anyone else had the irrational fear that because something bad happened at a certain time, it'll definitely happen again?
I lost my best boy Neddy at 19 and now Serenity has turned 19, I have this horrible fear it'll happen again. Ned wasn't ridden for his last year or so as he had a bit of lameness, which drastically got worse shortly before I decided it was kinder to let him go.
Serenity hasn't been in work for about 6 months now due to an awful injury to her hoof, then ulcers/bad back combo. I belive the ulcers are sorted now and getting the back lady out in a couple of weeks.
I keep telling myself it'll be fine, she's only 19, she's in otherwise good health. This awful fear won't go away!

Anyway, she had a lovely birthday, with extra apples and a nice brush and cuddle ☺️

She looks lovely! 💕

I've certainly had my share of irrational fears, though I think that they're not always 100% irrational, without I think that it can also be a way to partly try to mentally prepare yourself for the worst. It's easier said than done, but for me the solution is to just remind myself that only because I worry about a similar outcome, to not take anything out in advance, because it can can still end differently.

Hope Serenity's recovery continues in the right direction, and that you can try to not worry too much.
