A lovely walk (if cold) in the sunshine and lots of treats.... here are the birthday girl and Islay modelling their new house collars

But of course my dear

I think house collars are a really odd idea TBH, but GRWE say that all of their rescue greyhounds should wear one, including an ID tag.

I can see their point when I heard the story of a rescue greyhound which had just been rehomed - the (experienced) owner went out for the first time and left him, thinking he was in a secure room. The dog jumped straight through the closed window, and escaped

Thank god they got him back OK, and miraculously he was unhurt

I could just see Flick doing that sort of thing

But I must say that I haven't heard about many dogs jumping out through closed windows? This would be the second one, and the first one I heard about was a senile dog that simply forgot there were such a thing as windows.

On other hand I've always been told dogs should never wear collar indoors because they could get caught on something, and that it destroys the coat to always have a collar on.

But they look really good with them on, from Sweden.

I agree FL - although I have bought the house collars, I feel a bit

about them wearing them all the time. I am going to monitor it for a week or two and see how their coats are doing, and I also take the collars off when I leave them alone (which probably defeats the object, but I dont want my dogs to be strangled
