At the end of the summer, Mac lost a lot of weight. At the time, he was living out, having haylage overnight, and 2 short feeds a day of hi-fi and cubes. I started to add alfa-beet to his feeds, and he now comes in overnight and out all day. During the day, he has been having hay in his little paddock as the grass is rubbish.

He has slowly put the weight back on, and last night, I was giving him a lovely groom and fuss. I stood back to get a good look at him, and boy did he look sexy.

He is now at a weight that I would like to keep him at if at all possible. He suffers with arthritis, so don't want him to get too heavy. Shall I cut out the alfa-beet again, or just reduce the amount? At the moment he has about 1/2 a scoop (soaked) twice a day.

Aww, I'm glad he's doing so well in himself.
I'd just reduce the amount to begin with, and see how he gets on, rather than cutting it out completely since it's obviously suiting him.
