I went away last week to see my parents in spain so asked my instructor if she'd school hovis a couple of times for me whilst i was away. He'd been a bit difficult the last few times i'd schooled him, was being a touch stroppy, using his neck against me etc so I thought it might be a good idea.

I rode him last night for the first time since I got back and My God what a difference! He was SO light in my hands, really easy to turn and tried really hard.

So either a) I have a young horse that schools better in the pouring rain b) he was determind to behave for his mum in case I go away again and make this awful other woman ride him or c) she's an amazing rider and I'm pretty pants!!
Which do you think...........????!!!

agreed! A is the answer - mine is sooo much nicer in the rain! Good thing about all this 'bad' weather I guess.....

Sometimes horses have lightbulb moments too.
Perhaps he just needed a wee change.
See what he's like the next time you have a lesson on him.

Chancer has been recently schooled for me - what a difference. I then watched Sarah ride him - like a dream.

Sarah now has her biggest challenge - get me riding so Chancer goes for me like he does her.

That said, it could be (A) - never known Chancer to stand so proud in a line up as he did on Sunday and have put it down to gale force wind up his bum.
