A nice story for all to read on a monday morning!

A close friend of mine was driving home from the stables on Sat evening and a Boxer ran in front of her car, luckily she swerved and missed it, when she got out it was in a very sorry state so she took it to the vets. The bitch was not chipped and the vet said its highly likely she has come from a type of puppy farm due to the marks on her are very much like those seen of caged animals and she is approx 3/4 years old and vet thinks she has had approx 4 litters already (just look at her poor nipples ) As she had no tag, collar or chip they would have to have the dog warden to come and collect her and due to her condition she had hardly come from the loving doting home who will go and collect her. Soooooo she has a new home with my friend and her Stafie (who is also a rescue from bad conditions) and Doberman. She is a incredibly sweet girl and getting used to the stable life already... Here are some pictures after a good bath and lots of food and cuddles.

Fantastic story!! I think my Doberman might have eaten her if I did the same!

Make sure she covers herself legally tho;

(from KC website) "Dog Wardens are obliged to seize stray dogs. The finder of a stray dog must return it to its owner (if known), or take it to the local authority. It is illegal to take a found dog into your home without reporting it to the police first. If you want to retain the dog, this might be allowed, provided you are capable of looking after the dog and agree to keep it for at least 28 days. However, the original owner could still have a claim for the dog's return."

So make sure she has reported to the police that she has the dog - we dont want the puppy farm coming and claiming her back with menaces once she is all well fed. Not that I think that likely, and if they did I would be taking RSPCA and police with me when I 'returned' her actually to do a raid on the place :-))

Well done to your friend, poor girl. As said above though you need to do things correctly and notify the police, also register her as found on www.doglost.co.uk you have made assumptions about her owners, its possible that not long ago she was someones much loved pet who was stolen for breeding or something, it happens, every day. So please register her with doglost just incase she has some geniune loving owners out there that still havnt given up hope of finding their dog again.

Lol well her Doberman isn't exactly chuffed to bits with the new member but she's ok :D

I'll cpy thisand email over to her so she can have a read herself....Thanks

What a wonderful story. She's a handsome girl and so pleased the second half of her life will be good.

I can't stand these bl@@dy puppy farmers they should be hounded out of business. I have two rescue breeding bitches and they are fabulous dogs.

What a state, well one thing is for sure if she was stolen to breed from as a likely scenario (those 1st owners) should have chipped her, then she could be reunited quicker, if she was from a breeding farm then clearly you don't want her back there so you have to indeed weigh up the risks. Good on your friend for offering her a place to stay.

oh what a lovely girl and so lucky to have your friend, obviously she was meant to be found by your friend fate dealt her a fantastic hand.

Thank you to your friend for giving this lovely girl a wonderful home

I love a happy ending. So pleased for her.
I also found a young abandoned dog a few years ago. She was approx 4 months old ,a pretty little staffie, definately had been deliberately dumped in the middle of nowhere! It was only by chance that i came across her.Fate definately brought us together and i have no regrets ,she is wonderful and my best friend.

Oh bless her, she looks so much older than her real age, she must of had such a crap life.

Glad she found you. hubby liked the pictures of her too.............especially the bath-time picture

Thank you to all your lovely comments....she is a lucky girl although deserves it for being a mum for 2 solid years :-(

We came to the decision that as Cayla pointed out there are risks in advertising her as found, the risk of her ending back in that puppy farm is too huge to chance so we sat there on Monday night going through every boxer on dog lost, alfies lost dogs, animal wardens and whatever else we could find. The only one we found similar was Betty (who is in millimoo links) But her markings are slightly different, she has a thin white line and pointy black round the eyes whilst Layla does not. She also is chipped and has a tail and layla has neither, plus she went missing 18months ago and layla would of had to be in breeding for over 2 years due to the amount she has had and she has just come out of season the vet said. She is not advertised as lost anywhere we can trace or chipped so she is going to stay with her and be pampered and loved for the rest of her days which hopefully will block out all the bad thats happened to her. I truly believe if a family was looking for her we would be able to find some trace of that, so she is only doing it this way to protect her from ever being mistreated again, hope you all understand. And a huge plus although she didn't exactly want 3 dogs her 2 girls have really warmed to her and they all sleep together and travel together in the boot now, i'll get a photo when i can :D

I do love a happy ending :):) Although she obviously had a horrible start in life she's very lucky to have ended up in such a lovely home and I do hope all goes on well. For what it's worth I think they did absolutely the right thing by not putting her on doglost and by searching past posts instead - very sensible in view of her circumstances. Best of luck and hope to see some happy photos soon.
