My gorgeous 17h, 11 year old IDxTB gelding needs to find a new loan home.
He had an injury to his RH suspensory ligament 18 months ago, had surgery and box rest and came sound to event/dressage again. He then damaged the same hock last winter- more box rest etc. Again, came sound and been competing well at intro level and schooling much bigger (been taking slowly due to leg) and novice BD. Unfortunately he has now gone lame again and we have decided he cannot cope with the workload. He has had his hock re-medicated and is now being turned away for 3 months and I will bring him back into hacking work over the winter.
So, the long and the short of it is he needs to go to a 5* (at least!!) loan home to hack. He would be fine to do occasional light schooling but I dont want him in the school constantly. Ideally a happy hacker, maybe occaional funrides or local shows but a more sedate pace of life than I can offer. I have had him 5 years and he is the perfect horse. Fab in traffic etc, easy to do in all ways, on the ground, loading, farrier, vet etc. He is 17h but not strong- snaffle mouth and very short coupled- only a 6'6 rug. I want him to go in the new year ideally so he has come back into work.
I know this is way in advance but I love him to pieces and want to find a good home through someone locally or that I already know. He must stay around Warks area as still want to use my vet (John Brook) and ideally same farrier (Tim James) or another farrier who I know is good.
