Happy Halloween from everyone in the Newlands clan, Bruce, Suzi, Bubbles, Bently, Ali and Bob.

Try to remember the point of this holiday is to remember those who have passed over the rainbow bridge...it's a real good time to do so!

For all you trick or treaters beware...the warewolves will be out in force and they have a new trick that will about scare you to death, so keep one eye over your shoulder and be prepared to lean over quickly or you'll be toast!

Halloween certainly is tonight, but it's not news 'cos it is the same on October 31st every year!

Just for the record, the front page provides descriptions of what each of the Forum boards is for. Some people, myself included only visit certain boards where we are most likely to find posts of interest to us. Otherwise there would just be too many to plough through.

Defintely NOT a happy hallowen for us. We do not 'celebrate' it, and have a poster from the police on our front window to ask Trick or Treaters to go away as we are not playing. Despite that they came banging on the door so we had to open the door and point the notice out to them -- the meaning of which they did know about as the police have been running a campaign with local schools to get the kids to stop calling where they are not wanted.

Presumably as a result of the above, when we opened the front door this morning someone had left a plastic bag full of dog poo on our front door step!

Words fail me, as I can onlty think, as most of the dogs arouns here are walked by adults, that the parents not only condoned but actually participated in such an action. As a dog owner who always picks up (and has a dog with a KC Good Cituizen's award to prove it :-)) I am equally horiffied that they risk putting dogs and dog owners into disrute yet more by such disgusting behaviour.

I have, of course, contacted the police to report the incident, plus the local schools -- so that they can remind the kids yet again that this sort of behaviour is just NOT ON -- and also the local paper who might be doing a piece on it, but if the adulst condone it what good will that do?

Oh my good god Suzi, you just broke one of the 10 comandments of the LNs section!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont worry, I did it once and was picked up on it by the same member.I think Im going to the HHo limbo when I log out

Whoops, don't mention magic in here...someone might get offended.
I wonder what on earth could make someone so opposed to a night when kids dress up cute and come to your door and say please and thank you. I had no trouble what-so-ever last night and at 9 o'clock when I turned off the porch light, the kids stopped coming.
How hard is that?
I think there is more to this story than trick or treating. Could someone leave dog mess on someone's door step for just plain being unpleasant to her neighbours? It's a possiblilty. Now will just go hang my witchy head in shame, but Happy Samhain to all anyway. Oh, and by the way, it did start in England you know. Samhain wass imported to America by Brits.
That's what I mean by knowing your history.
Blessings
Suzanne
