I posted this in the SB by accident but it's meant to be in here as it's horsey. Sorry for duplicate!
Anyway....
I love Tara
(yes the new horse I haven't started batting for the other side lol)
She's so sweet. I am dying of the cold but dragged myself along to the stables to have a play today and I am so glad I did. I still feel like I have the plague but I have a nice warm horsey glow too
We all went into the indoor school to ride.
Lady T doesn't really like being around others when being ridden in the school, (she likes to stop concentrating and glare at other horses who pass her LOL) but she definitely started getting used to it after a while so I think she'll be fine after a few sessions. - she's not going to have much choice on our yard!
She's quite tense on the flat so I just worked for ages in walk, working on bending, flexibility and on getting her to work properly and in a longer, lower outline.
She is getting the idea in walk and I'm impressed with her attitude but it still goes to pot in trot lol.
She is so keen and willing though so it's a pleasure to work her.
There's group lessons with different instructors every night at the yard so I've got myself on the Wednesday night slot to get some help (is a bargain at £10 per lesson!)
Am also going to change the habit of a lifetime for me and start lunging her for short periods - perhaps using a harbridge.
I am so inspired with her and we haven't even jumped yet which is her real forte
She's probably thinking who is this BORING person who has bought me - where's the jumps LOL.
We have our first SJ show in a few weeks though so I better get practicing
She is also just so lovely to be around. You wouldn't think it to see pics of her as she looks so bold but she is so sweet and gentle - almost delicate.
I like just sitting in her stable with her for ages playing with her forelock and scratching her head.
Can't wait to get my new mobile so that I can bore you all with some pictures hehe
Self indulgent post over! Sorry!
It's just so nice to have regular access to a horse again and she's mine, all mine
Anyway....
