Bit of a pointless post but just wanted to share how happy I am. Jasper and I managed to go out for a 45 min hack all on our own :D Our first attempt at venturing out alone ended in me falling off after a bucking fit and him galloping home  and our second in turning around and going home because he was being a prat and I was scared after what had happened the first time!
My confidence has grown thanks to some lessons, and I now feel able to ride him past "scary" stuff. He had a good look at some terrifying cows, an overhanging branch and a large rock but we got past without incident.
Really feel we've made progress :D

Good for you! The more you have rides like that, the more Jasper will trust you as the boss, and you will then have MORE rides like that.. etc. And if you have the odd bad day when he has his silly head on, try to put that down as a blip - you're in charge!!

PS Cows eat horses you know. That's what my boy informed me the first time he saw next door's dairy herd....

Thanks everyone! It's amazing just how many horse eating monsters there are out there! I believe that crisp bags are the most fearsome! Even more so than cows apparently!

We have a very dangourous KILLER pig up the road. The only horse that will go past it without a struggle is Lucy.

Now skips, they just might be interesting.... mine marches up to a full skip and sticks his snout in them and rummages around - and yes, I do feed him! Pheasants, however are the Spawn of Satan....:D

Haha Happy times, my boy thinks Butterflies are really SCARY lol should see him dart with one of these monsters chasing him round the filed lol

Jasper thinks skips MIGHT have cows/crisp bags/pigs in them! They have to be jogged past very quickly, best not to take any chances! lol
I'd love to know what goes on in his head sometimes! He can be so brave, a car transporter can go past and he won't bat an eyelid or a doberman ran at him snarling and he didn't move a muscle, but a crisp bag has him all of a quiver! :p
