Happy happy post. Found a share horse :-D

I was like 😱😱😱 when she suggested trying a change. I said oh I haven't done that in a while and she laughed and said "just swap everything over" so I did!! They were mostly late but the last one felt good, all coordinated and I didn't nearly fall off lol!!!

Wow, good stuff, lol! You're cool as a cucumber! :)

2nd ride update. A bit windy today  will have to get the hang of this martingale and grackle business. Started badly as got legged up and horse spooked and charged across the yard. Lucky for me he couldn't get far so managed to get my feet in the stirrups and then allowed him to settle in the school for a few minutes before going out. No problem again going out and ignored cars and busses and passed the farm with scary tractor and smelly cow poo without a pause. Second time he's led his friend who was supposed to be leading us. Got back onto main road ok and no, big scary busses are not scary:p However two very noisy motorbikes set him off into a spin but he settled really quickly.. Making of piaffe there i think  Whew relief:o got back to yard all on one piece. I have a Problem now though. His saddle does not fit so we have to get something sorted if I'm to ride him.
Bearing in mind that I spooked him before going out and that the saddle must have been very uncomfortable he did very very well. Got a lovely photo but have to figure out how to load as on iPad.

well done sounds like you're going to have a lot of fun! I've been sharing for a couple of years and so grateful to the owner for putting her trust in me, especially as i was very rusty when i started! I could afford my own now but am so happy with our arrangement i'm going to stay with her as long as i can.

for those worrying about responding to adverts, you could always advertise yourself and let the owners approach you, that's how I did it, was honest about my abilities and i had quite a few replies :)

That's a really good idea, I might place my own ad. Thanks!

Your post gave me the necessary man-up to reply to an add to :) It was on facebook, so I know the person is at Badminton, so clearly has better things to do than reply but I think I might end up spending the whole weekend checking anyway.

Well done. Hope you get a positive reply. Fingers crossed for you:)

Ooh sounds good. Glad youre having a great time and can't wait to see a photo!!

As for being cool as a cucumber I can tell you I was bright red dripping with sweat and definately NOT cool lol!! I think the fact that the horse changed leads is a testiment to him and not my riding. I was bouncing about all over the place.

Looking forward to monday when hopefully we're going for a hack if her other horse is sound.
