This is a bit of a pointless post, but I am so happy! I finally had my hard neck brace taken off today, after 10 weeks recovering from a fractured neck. I fell off and fractured 2 vertebrae back in November and I've now been given a completely clean bill of health. Plus, to top it all off... I can get back in the saddle as soon as I feel ready!!

So..... I'm off to buy a new hat and get an airjacket this weekend to celebrate!

Has anyone else had a really good day?

Great news it's just fantasic when it's all over .
I've had two horses at the vets today so not great but yesterday I rode my special horse friend for the first time since the beginning of November I got on walking into the school and the feeling of being on him was marvellous .
He's just lovely.
Good luck when you get back on.

Thanks everyone, it feels so good!

Goldenstar - Sorry to hear about your vet trip, I hope it's not too serious? I hope they come home well soon. Sounds like you had a great ride yesterday though, it's always nice to do something/ride something different, especially a favourite.

Henmother - I look forward to your post about your first ride, the end is in sight! I've bought the bath soak and the wine ready to relieve the ache.... but somehow I can't wait.

Brilliant news... I remember a couple of years ago not being able to ride for about three weeks because of snow/ice etc and although I hadn't realised just how much I missed it, as soon as I was on, it felt like coming home; couldn't get the smile off my face :)

Fantastic news!

I've had a good horse day today. New feed and fresh straw delivered. Lovely ride and a great little gallop on my boy pretending he's Secretariat and I'm a rather feminine Ron Turcotte(think the spelling is right) then getting back to the yard and for the first time in maybe forever he was complemented someone said he was looking fit! This is a silly big deal for me as I've put blood sweat and tears into building him up since I got him in September. He had been scouring for months, skin and bone no shine to his coat and no life in his eyes.

I almost cried when I was out with him in his stable tonight looking at him all bright eyed with a silky coat and building muscle with gorgeous solid poo...

I think either a little road and track work, or maybe see if we can go to a friends farm which has acres of off road hacking... Either way we will go accompanied by hopefully one of the more sensible horses, as the monkey is prone to spooking at anything and nothing!

Effy - you must have been super proud, I think that's one of the best compliments you can get as a horse owner. It basically sums up your care and dedication.... Especially if he was poor at the start.
