Happy Hoochter-choochter HUGE Hendersyde Report

Well done Fugly! Especially on staying upright on that mountainside of a SJ ring - aren't there any rules regarding maximum drop after a SJ fence :p
Pippin the dog is very cute, maybe to demonstrate the size of scarily big fences next time you would be better off putting him/her next to the fence rather than the mahooosive horsey, perspective and all that?

Oh my life woman, look at you. All that achieved & home in time to upload photos & do a report on the same day. Impressed.......I'd say:D

Really glad Hendersyde was up to standard & gave you both something to think about. Would've been a bit disappointing if you had thought it rather 'bobby basic'. Those tables with the brush behind have been tormenting people round their for a number of years. Defo using the brush = higher rule to full advantage.

I dont remember the SJ being on the side of a mountain like that, certainly makes the elusive clear round even more of an achievement.

Sorry you didnt find any drinking buddies on Sat night although that probably made Sun am a bit easier & a bit less chatting after lights out;)

Dont think the lack qualification for Scottish BE100 champs for next year is gonna bother you muchly...... it'll be Novice for Fugs by then.

You should have stayed up for the week & gone to Scone next weekend - its a goody one too.......

Well done team...... hope Mr GB actually enjoyed his weekend, I bet he did a little bit & somebody in the family would like to do more camping:)

I think the terrier is very cute, I like the Muttley type grin! Clever Fugs. I seem to remember the SJ at Aske Hall being on a hill a bit like that? And bizarrely it was the only clear I ever managed SJ at Novice on my Mum's horse, pilot error at the last fence xc put paid to us earning a shiney point, but just as well because they then invented Intro and Mum could do them with Holly.

Chestnutty mare - Fugs doesn't have green travel boots I'm afraid. I can't remember which colour he did have on as I just picked up the nearest pair when I set off but chances are that they were navy as most of my things are! Sorry, I can't aspire to Chloe-esque matchy-matchy standards :(

BN - perfect idea! I will put Pippin in all future XC pics. She'll make fences look mahoosive! In fact you would have needed a Great Dane to put in some of those ditches if you wanted to see it!

Joss - appaently they'd moved the SJing from a mildly sloping area last year to a ski slope this year. Lord only knows how we jumped clear . We definitely went to bed in good time (midges and darkness!). Good thing you weren't there to lead us astray.... ;)

Charlimouse - it's lovely!

Baggybreeches - can I have your old name please? Did you see the XC pic from the rear?? It was WAAAAY steeper than Aske for sure, though we may go there too now as we seem to like hills.

WEll done, fab report. I ventured to Hendersyde for training with the quiet & reserved (!) Mr Smith at the start of the season. Was hoping to be there at the weekend but broke the pony. Ah well maybe next year.

Oh & terrier is most cute!

Well done what a special boy he is turning into. Wow at the slope on the SJing not seen one as bad as that before, he must be pretty well balanced!

Which were the fences with the huge ditches on the PN then?
I only half paid attention to the PN course - too confusing to walk 2 at once yet - (I did nearly go wrong at one point and set off up the hill like PN rather than to the Intro steps round the corner!!)

What I did saw I liked and definitely one I would like to pencil in for next year :D

I must say for all the SJ looked really undulating it actually rode very well - maybe we should have more arenas in this style!!

Hi Gamebird :)

I was taking photos on Sunday and got two of you and Fugly at the fence in the trees, the one after the water up the hill - Looking cool both of you !

Thanks for that! They're lovely pics, especially the second one. Can I just order from the site or do I need to go through you. I'd love a copy of the second!

Cheers, shame they appeared a day too late really. I needed a pic for a newspaper article and could only come up with something old and not very impressive - yours would have been much better (with permission and full credit of course! ;))
