Happy Hoof Mollasses Free - Do I need a Balancer too ?

As per the thread heading.

Does Happy Hoof Molasses Free have a full range of added vitamins and mineral to provide a balanced enough diet together with ad-lib hay ? Just wondering if I need a balancer too. Need to get weight off horse.

Balanced how? Unless you actually have a forage analysis you will not know what is lacking or what is in excess, and therefore it is impossible to say whether one brand of balancer or another is going to be beneficial. Generelly if you want to get a horse to drop weight you want to feed it less stuff, not more...

It doesn't - they recommend adding a vit and min supplement or balancer to it

ETA ignore me - i was thinking about hifi molasses free! I don't use happy hoof!

Yes it does, but you have to feed a couple of kilos a day to get the daily allowance of vits and mins.
