Just wondering about whether my horse would go well in a happy mouth for hacking?
I currently have him in a loose ring french link snaffle. He often snatches at the bit when we're out hacking. Also when riding at speed he sticks his head down and tanks, really leaning on your hands if he can. I hate the feeling of him pulling against me, it must hurt him and it hurts my fingers! I thought maybe a happy mouth would give him less to pull against? As it has a bit of give in it? And would be more comfy for us both. He's responsive to my seat and legs so I don't need a stronger bit for steering/slowing down, in fact he would probably go well in a bitless. I just feel bad about him hurting himself with the snatching and pulling, if you see what I mean!
He works fine in an outline in the school, and has decent brakes jumping so would stay in the french link for that.
