Dog wise, as an average pet dog owner, 2016 was a bit full on. Lost an old dog that was expected, lost a younger one that we hadn't even planned on getting this time last year-and then finally got a pup of an unforeseen make.

sorry for fuzzy photo, old iPhone, poor light.

motto for next year is just to be more dog :) enjoy your time with your dogs.

I adore my dogs more than anything - much to the chagrin of my other half (sorry, I can't help it!) - Happy New Year, much love to all dog lovers :) :) :)

Happy New Year to you all. Dogs, horses, especially. Lost my lovely little dog, aged 15. Wish I could post pix but don't know how to. Three months later, lost horse. Both old and had lovely lives. But don't half miss them.

Happy New Year from me, my big black dog and the humongous puppy who has brought such joy in to my life even if he is a little blumming monkey sometimes! They are taking it easy this NYE, as they do every night

Happy New Year all doggy people on here. Love from me with Abbey, black flattie, Teasel liver flattie and Finley Mr Podge the Goldie rescue who is now 3kg lighter than when we last said hello!

Sorry for the slightly late Happy New Year message from me to the other fellow dog lovers on here. I have had a rough few weeks, as my older two dogs seem to be rapidly slowing down, my longhaired shepherd is suffering from another bout of hot spots and intermittent lameness and my younger working GSD was diagnosed with patellar tendonitis and so followed vet visits and canine physio to get him back to fitness and working condition. Thankfully he seems to be back to his usual high energy and athletic self again now. I have been struck down with a flu-like bug over Christmas and the New Year - so am fighting to shrug it off and get on with my life.

I can't wait to get stuck in to more doggy activities in 2017 :D and will hopefully also have a new canine member of the family by the end of the year.

sorry to hear you and doggies not been 100%! (I am not sure how I escaped the awful bug everyone at work came down with on the lead up to xmas-then they all came down with noro! alcohol wipes and 1st Defence are my friends). Happy New Year and hope you are back fighting fit soon.

A late Happy New Year from me too. My Daisy continues to bring me untold joy, and is my world. Who'd have thought a bundle of white fluff could bring so much happiness?

Definitely more 'dog' for me too this year as my business continues to go from strength to strength.

Belated Happy New Year from me and Mrs Spaniel.

Here she is with her New Year's Stick and her best Goblin impression.

hopefully we all have a fun doggyfilled year. :)

Be more dog. Yep, I can get behind that.

Especially this dog, he's awesome.

This year, we were joined by his sister...

But during a recent trip to the beach, she found a dead fish which was almost the same size as herself and promptly swallowed it in about three mouthfuls. I'm not sure I want to be quite so much like this dog...

Belated Happy New Year from us too. It's been a mixed year but mostly positive - hurrah.

Few piccies of the hounds in 2016

Button enjoying Christmas Day festivities. Rufus is allowed to be sociable but he gets a bit over emotional when there's large gatherings so he spent most of his time with me in the kitchen. He's a sensitive little flower, bless him.

The dogs and myself had a little holiday to the Lakes in October and we went to the seaside!! We live sooooo far from the seaside it never occurs to me to take them. The weather was fabulous (for October) and the dogs loved it, even though Rufus would rather cut off his own head than get his paws wet.

This is as deep as Rufus would go

Needless to say, they found it all rather exhausting. This is in fact their favourite pose.

On a personal level, I went riding for the first time in two years (since I lost the last of my own horses) and had a fabulous time, although I couldn't walk for several days afterwards as we were out for a couple of hours. Just look at that view!!

Belated Happy New Year, MoC I'm seriously tempted by a working goldie!!

My super duper lab is now entering his 11th year, where has the time gone?! He is still going strong and has been doing half day picking up this season still. Can't imagine life without this old fella!

Then in the summer a new addition arrived, in the form of a Townie Manchester Terrier with a lot to learn about country life! She is hilarious and infuriating all rolled into one ....

Anyway hope 2017 is good for everyone's doggies
