What a wonderful flag bearer he has been for Harry Fry.
I hope the injury he has sustained in his last race is quickly resolved and he can get back to enjoying life leading out the Fry string.

I just saw he was retired. Is that his plan, to be the Fry's hack? How lovely for him, such a wonderful horse.

Yes apparently so. He has a tendon tear so they felt it was right to retire him now rather than try and bring him back as a 12 year old. He will stay with them and Harry's wife will take care of him.

Just the best news. A grand horse by any opinion and surely, when the Trainer offers permanent retirement for a good servant, that has to be the way to go, failing genuinely 'suitable' alternatives.

Alec.

On RUK this afternoon Harry said he will be staying with them as his wifes horse. He will be rested and given time to come sound and then will be the trainers wifes hack, used to lead out the string. Harry said that the only difference to Ruby will be that he doesnt have to go racing! A grand retirement for a lovely little horse :)

A brilliant outcome and a perfect retirement. Congratulations to the owners for an excellent decision.

I had a crap morning and then i saw this news on twitter and it cheered me up so much! I am thrilled he is retiring at the top of his game, staying with the people who clearly love him, and will carry on living the life that clearly suits him :) Well done those owners for making such a great decision.

This probably sounds ridiculous, but I'm almost relieved there is one less horse I'm fond of to worry about racing!

Not ridiculous at all. You aren't alone!

I wonder who the owners are, they've earned a well deserved round of applause.

Alec.
