Been having some trouble with my horse shaking her head a lot! Having had her back, teeth, saddle etc done I am buying a new bridle and bit to see if this helps.

I have decided to get a happy tongue bit but i dont know which one would be best. there is all these (just need a snaffle though!) http://www.bombers.co.za/bits-by-colour-code/sensitive-tongue-a-head-shakers/happy-tongue.html

She doesn't like pressure on the reins and will avoid it by throwing her head down then up! She is currently in a french link loose ring snaffle. Which would be the best one to go for? :)

Do you mean Happy Mouth bit ?? :)

my lad goes best in a french link snaffle, having tried every snaffle going (well almost) .

Hey I did look at Happy Mouths but I have read lots of people having success witth the happy tongue, it takes pressure off their tongues. On the website it has categories and the link i posted are the ones under this :)

Sensitive Tongue & Head Shakers

When pressure is applied to a horse with a sensitive tongue, its response will be one or more of the following:

Shaking its head
Sticking its tongue out
Sucking its tongue back and as a result making an intermittent coughing noise
Trying to put its tongue over the bit

ah ok - skuttles off to do some research ;)

Let me know how you get on! Have just went for it and have bought the eggbut! It says it doesn't need extra clearance on the website for this one but added 1/8 inch because im paranoid. Can always swap it! :)

I would just go for the loose ring one.

I've just got the 2 and 1/2 ring one to try from the horsebitshop..think I will try it just as a loose ring to start off with though as looks quite different.

I went for the eggbut in the spur of the moment! She is very sensitive and I didn't want to risk it pinching.

My highland loves his happy tongue

Did you buy it for a specific reason? :)
I think i bought it a bit big, but have it on a trail! Can't wait for it to arrive. Put a comfort bridle on her today and she still shakes her head (though not as much!) so thinking its the bit/teeth!

Yes he has a thick tongue, he can be a challenge to get on the bit. He is very easy in his mouth and never strong. I take him every where in his bit, it a Pelham to show in too, but he has strained his hock so no go his season!

Thanks, i am hoping mine will come soon!

Along with her teeth being redone, this bit seems to have worked. No more headshaking (only 1 or 2 on way home, whereas before it was say 6 in a row and most of the way home, or grabbing the bit. So would recommend Happy Tongues :)
