As a last resort I changed her bit today. I am one that doesn't like to resort to a different bit to solve problems but I thought It was worth a go.
I put her in a Dutch gag, I was recommended it by my instructor and another I know. It is a French link so not too far from what she is used to.
She respects it and me now! I used to ride around the school with no brakes, which turned into her tanking off at every upward transition last week. I had her teeth and back checked first in case there was a physical issue though.
After the first halt transition she was next to perfect! She is now back to listening to my seat and voice commands, I don't have to even use the reins now she knows its there and that has helped my confidence no end! She still rushed off into trot every time but I could bring her back to walk easy.
Now to get back into the swing off things, I will be down there early tomorrow for another schooling session, hacking with a friend Wednesday and a lesson booked for Thursday.
I really feel on top of it again.
And as for the eye, I think she scratched it. It has got is much better every day and no sign of any infection! Thank goodness!
