Hey, Noticed today that pony has a hard bony lump on the outside of his forleg about 2 inches below the knee. No heat or swelling noticable. He;s fine for me to poke, prod, touch it. He's in fairly gently work at the moment as he's a baby (5), we don't canter yet, just walk and trot either in the school or hacking (off road - but the ground is like iron). Not too much trotting on hacks either with the rutted dry ground. Pony is a fell so chunky with legs like tree trunks. I was thinking it may be a splint but it's not swollen or hot and he's not lame. He's turned out alone so its not a kick. He did go bonkers galloping round the field about a week ago but has been ridden fine since then?
Any ideas? if it hasn't disappeared in a few days I will, of course, speak to a vet.
Cheers
