now with grass in plenty supply do u think it be ok to stop feeding hard feeds now i have been cutting down they are good doers, but will i have to continue to feed hard foods to my yerling for development reasons, or will she be ok with just grass to, they will however continu to get apples carrots swede and parsnip,

Good doers certainly very rarely need hard feed through the summer months. However, yes your yearling probably would.

What are your parents feeling on the situation?

I stopped feeding Inky my yearling having posted a similar thread. I didnt really have much choice though as after a day in the field he wont even eat a tea so no point feeding one!!! If the grass is good quality i wouldnt bother.

If they're good doers, IMO they shouldnt be on "plenty grass". With my ones who are good doers, I put them on much less grass and instead feed them hay. Much safer to keep the dreaded laminitis away. I do feed mine hard feed, but mainly just so they can all get their supplements.
