Hard or deep surface?

We would all love to have a perfect surface... but if you could choose a deep or hard one, which would you choose?? And why??

I have said hard... our surface is rather deep and a lot of the horses really struggle on it.

Deep all the way for Cheeky. He really feels the ground, and if it's hard he panics and gets quite uptight with really choppy strides. He loves mud though, and really goes well when every other horse is skiing round, slipping everywhere.

Hard. Imoved off a yard because the surface was ridiculously deep.

Hard for me,(well with some give obviously

) my lads canter is much better on a firmer surface,he seems to lose all co ordination on a deeper surface and panics,less strain on ligaments also!

My yards surface is quite deep in the corners and my horse sometimes struggles when it's wet but when it's dry it's fine. However i would prefer it was a bit harder, not too hard though

My 4 yr old really struggles on very deep surfaces adn much prefers a firmer one.
