I recently noticed a small hard lump about an inch in length on my horses neck. It is quite hard and does not hurt him when I touch it. It has gotten a little bigger than when it first appeared. The hair is still growing on the lump. I have felt the lump and it does not have a top or is not oozing or anything. It is smooth. I thought it was a fly bite at first but it does not seem like it now.
Any ideas on what it could be. Just getting a bit worried now.
Thank you for reading.

It could be an eosinophillic granuloma? They usually look like small, hard lumps and are made of collagen, and don't really cause a problem unless they're under tack and they rub. If you're worried maybe get your vet to take a look next time your horses vaccinations are due?

My old boy had one, almost certainly nothing to worry about, monitor it and as above, get the vet to have a look when your jabs are next due.

Forgot to add that he has it about three weeks but has only gotten bigger in the last week

It's probably nothing to be concerned about, but if you are worried then call a vet, there's always a small chance it could be a sarcoid or something similar and your peace of mind is always worth it!
