Anyone feed?

Both dogs currently on JWB adult large breed lamb and rice and both do very well on it. Older of the two is now retired from competition, I'm scaling down the exercise gradually and he doesn't require so much poke (never did, to be fair...:p)
Was wondering if this would be a cheaper alternative, same ingredients but hopefully without impacting coat/condition/guts too much. He was a dustbin as a youngster but has shown signs of sensitivity to change in last couple of years.

Or any other ideas?
Thanks in advance.

I thought Harrington’s was total rubbish? It doesn’t score highly on any website I’ve checked (sorry CC!)

Chappie all the way 🙄 bloody fussy big fella can’t cope with anything else now....

I didnt find Chappie particularly cheap to feed two medium + sized dogs-certainly worked out more expensive than the Burns Sensitive they are both now on (Quarrie got very itchy on the Chappie so switched, so far so good)

Oh god no, it isn't cheap at all - the Hoov boy is on 4 cans a day now which is turning out to be a bit eye watering in cost! He just won't tolerate anything else :(

Skinners Duck and Rice? But then I always recommend that!

The only reason I can't feed skinners is the beet pulp in it, actually it is really hard to find food that doesn't have it, but it gives old lab a horrible scurfy coat. So if JWB contains pulp and your two are OK on it then skinners should be fine, I really rate it as a food and it is always being recommended - not just by Levrier!

He has turned red in the past but not sure if that is to do with beet pulp or not...I noticed improvement when we moved a few years ago and his kennel is now less exposed to the weather so I had put it down to that, rather than food.

It's OK Clodagh, CC is aware that there can be no higher recommendation :p :D :D :D

We feed the Rotties Chudleys Sensitive which is rice and lamb? I am not sure if it’s ‘cheap rubbish’. It is £22 - £24 a sack. I have tried other brands up and down the scale, but they either won’t eat them (more expensive brands) or get upset stomachs (cheaper brands). I have just checked the ingredients for you and it mentions ‘vegetables’ but I can’t see beet pulp.

I agree, on paper. Both dogs look absolutely super on it and I get comments on them all the time. Teeth, coats in great nick.
They've both been on it for years and I and we went round a lot of houses until we found something that worked.
The older one had coat condition issues and the younger one is prone to sensitivity and hard to keep weight on.

Only considering a change for older one due to downsizing his work level and a few bills that are coming in. If I had to maintain him for competition he'd be staying on it and I'd take the hit.
