Hi everyone I've got a harry dabbs avant jump saddle on order I'm a little worried as they only had a 17.5 inch saddle in stock for me to ride in and I found that it through me out of balance I've ordered a 18 inch and it's been modeled on a amerigo double flap jump saddle (I prefered this to ride on but the horse prefered the HD tree) I've got a HD avant 17.5 to borrow while mine is made but it tends to make me want to grip with my knees then when I put my leg on it throws me off balance do you think this would be an issue on an 18 inch I am used to riding on a albion k2 which I loved but my horse didn't I am struggling on only have 2 choices of saddle brands HD and amerigo my horse doesn't like rear gussets and needs a wool flock. Any advice and experiences apreciated also I'm thinking of getting a HD dressage saddle if I fit in them ! Thank you x
 
I had one. They are smart looking saddles! Mine was second hand but only a couple years old but it was too narrow for my horse so I sold it on.
I have to say though it made me feel like I was tipping forwards and pushing my legs back. I really had to fight to get my leg in the correct alignment. Strange when you consider the saddle was too narrow and so in theory should have made my position the opposite! It felt to me like the stirrup bars were in the wrong place.

Ah ****** I get that feeling although now I've ridden in it for a few days it's not as bad I have a lesson this morning so I will see what the instructor thinks. Thanks for your reply xxx
