Anyone claimed on this, and if so, what for? and did they pay out?
My understanding is that its external injury, with the exclusion of tendons & ligs, but what is not clear is wether a cut resulting in tendon or lig damange would be paid?
Hesistant to call them for obvious reasons ..
 
Yep, mine cut her leg in the field, which needed staples and was paid for. Then an x-ray a few weeks later. They did query the x-ray, but the vet explained it was done as they thought she'd damaged the splint bone when she cut herself. They paid out just fine.
Thankfully, it was just deep bruising to the cannon bone, so it came good with rest and icing.
I have since switched to WHW as I needed cover for several horses.

One of mine sliced his foot so badly he was in horspital for 3 days as they initially thought he had done the tendon sheath which would require surgery. Fortunately he missed it by millimetres so it was just IV AB’s and a months box rest with twice weekly vet visits to change bandages.

I contacted HH immediately and set the claim ball rolling and although I had no issue with them accepting the claim the underwriters were very very slow to pay out. I had the vets chasing me while I chased the insurers and we got there in the end but it would have been less stressful if they had just paid up as soon as the bill arrived.
 
A friend had HH and I had WHW, both of us made a claim for different things and the WHW covered a lot more than the HH policy. They did both pay though.
 
Yep. claimed for a kick to the stifle joint. Deep cut, swollen and unsound for a while (2-3 weeks). The paid for all vet treatment (including xrays) without question. I was really impressed. They are also happy to pay the vet direct or you after clearing the bill yourself.
 
I have had 2 claims paid by them, on different horses. One broke his patella from a kick, it cost more than the £1500 limit I have, but they paid up (and a year on he has made a full recovery) amd more recently on another one for a reaction to some kind of insect bite or sting.
