Just saw on fb that he is in hospital after a rotational at Wellington Advanced? Anyone know what happened/what fence it was at??

All the best he makes a speedy recovery! *vibes coming his way*

Anyone know if he was entered at Burghley this year? If so what a shame if he isn't anymore! :/ Hopefully it isn't anything too major and he will be up and about again asap!

I didn't see it myself but have heard that horse tried to bank fence two, Harry has broken both elbows and is in Basingstoke hospital for surgery.

Wishing him a speedy recovery. But for the grace of god go we.

Yup, both elbows broken and dislocated apparently. That has got to seriously hurt! Sending healing healing vibes his way

Agree sounds a horrible injury and fence 2 wasn't very big or wide (it was shared with intermediate) and was filled in so not the normal candidate for a rotational fall. Just shows that accidents can happen any where. Wishing him a speedy recovery,he must be gutted to be missing Burghley and the rest of the season.

Having broken one elbow in the past, it made me wince to read that he'd broken both - can't even imagine the pain.
His connections tweeted yesterday that he'd had the first of his surgeries and was awake, and luckily there were no head injuries to worry about.
Wishing him all the best.

Dislocating one elbow (both forearm bones) was the worst pain I have ever felt. He is unfortunately going to be driven mad as they will probably set both at 90 degrees and he won't be able to do much

Wishing him a speedy recovery!

Ouch poor harry! Elbows are a joint you really don't want to break :( hopefully rehab goes well and gets full movement back once it has healed! :)

Sounds like a horrible fall, but thank goodness there were no head or crush injuries. Wishing Harry a speedy recovery.

Harry will be in hospital for the rest of the week, still in a lot of pain but being amazing. Operations on both arms tomorrow.

Shannondale Santiago seems none the worse after their fall @Welli_HT.He's trotted up sound each day and is in much better shape than Harry.

Poor Harry I hope he gets better soon... I was at Wellington on Monday and was at the water when it happened, however a friend of mine witnessed the fall and said it was horrible and Harry looked in a lot of pain - get well soon!

I saw it happen and I didn't think the horse tried to bank it. I was stood looking towards fence 2 and the horse somersaulted right up with his tail going over his head. I thought he clipped the top of the fence with his knees. He landed facing back towards fence one on his back with Harry underneath him. He was very lucky not to have been more seriously injured. Was he wearing an air jacket? I was very relieved to see him moving and we left to watch the show jumping. I did check with a paramedic later that he was ok .

I hope that he recovers quickly as he is a fantastic rider. It was a very unfortunate accident. Although the fence was straightforward I thought it was huge and very solid!!

I broke both elbows and both wrists thoughtfully cushioning my horses fall SJ. Nightmare - once set pain wasn't bad, but couldn't do a thing for myself for weeks ! Husband snapped on the marigolds and equipped himself with a sink plunger saying ' let me at it 'when he had to help me in the bath... The rest of his duties are too graphic for a family forum !

oh wow, doesn't sound a nice fall at all - sounds as though he was very lucky! and as for the air jacket, I don't think he does wear one...I may be wrong though
